Essentially, fat from liposuction is used as a fat graft. The sucked fat is used to improve contours, give more volume and correct irregularities in other regions such as the buttocks or face. Liposculpture remodels specific areas of the body, removing excess deposits of fat, improving body contours and proportions. Despite being in good health and practising physical exercise, some people may still have bodies with disproportionate contours due to localised deposits of fat. These deposits may be caused by genetic characteristics, lack of weight control or physical activity. Liposculpture may be used to treat accumulations of fat in various parts of the body, including the abdomen, thighs, arms, neck, waist, back, medial side of the knee, chest, cheeks, chin, legs and ankles. In some cases, liposculpture is performed in isolation and, in the majority of cases, it is used in conjunction with other procedures, such as face lifts, breast reduction or an abdominoplasty.
